Yws 20GB ehterchannel switches are physical..loan balancing on switched is set to static (no LACP) and src-des-IP load balancing.also have ip hash enabled on esx vswitches.
I undersand that you VM can get a maximum 1gb throughput to a single IP.
also I am aware that single point of faliure could occour unless I stack my Cisco swtches.....
Etherchannel performance sounds attractive for use because we have an SCCM VM which absolutely get hammered by clients downloading updates/software deployment..
One last question.
What is the best practise. Do PPL use etherchannel trunks to hosts in real world datacenteres? I think the advantage of running VMs on different vlans is good, we dont have to Tag ports on the physical switches hence less administration required also the preformance as well.
