Very interesting. Actually, this is the same issue that I was having with one of my other repaired VMs (from Mike's guidance), where the old/original directory and files could not be deleted. I could "touch" them, but not delete.
Just for the heck of it, I tried rebooting the host, but no luck.
So, I went to the directory and successfully removed the old files via rm -i *.vmdk
Kind of strange, but the end result is good.
Down to ONE orphaned snapshot VM.
