Before you get stuck into this look carefully at the software you want to install. If like me you were hoping to run some of the old Windows 95/98 games which defy compatibility mode then you are right out of luck. VMware tools doesn't have any 3D graphics support for Windows 98 and games won't run. Windows 98 in VMware and other virtual systems is as useful as a chocolate teapot.
