vm.guest.hostname returns null?

Hello, I use the "vm.guest.hostname" to retrieve the guest VM hostname and run my deletation workflow.

It works perfectly fine in 5.0 environment. After I upgraded to 5.1 environment, it fails and no longer is able to return the correct hostname; instead, it returns "null". Please advise if the API is changed, and which one I should use now.
