Hi, we are planning to implement a vSphere 5.1 farm into a customer DMZ. With regards to vCenter this is already installed managing a vSphere farm on the internal network and the same vCenter server is to be used to manage the DMZ vSphere farm. The vCenter server is a VM and is configured at 1GB on the internal network.
The DMZ physical switch ports are limited to 100MB network speed. This means the vSphere servers will have a 100MB network connection. Vmware documentation suggests at least 1GB connection for both vsphere and vcenter.
I'd like to understand whether the 100MB connection is still practical, and the potential impact to services e.g. vcenter management, vmotion, HA, VM connectivity etc.
Or is the 100MB infrastructure a 'no go'
Thanks
