Back to my original question - should I use RAID 5 or RAID 10 for a View environment that is using SSDs for all of the VMs?
I've crunched the numbers and I don't think IOPS will matter since SSDs are so much faster than spinning disks. If IOPS won't matter, then what else does RAID 10 give me? Lots of redundancy, but with RAID 5 I will have a hot spare+parity, so that's basically 2 drives and since it will be all SSDs, then I don't think the performance hit with even 2 failed drives would be noticeable.
Anyone out there running a View environment on RAID 5 SSDs?
Anyone switch from RAID 10 to RAID 5 or vice versa?
Thanks,
Mike
